20th Blog Entry

I was unfortunately able to upload my improved version of my souble page spread which included an added background effect and also more organised text columns with more of the story written. I forgot to upload/finish it whilst I was at college and no longer have access to it until after easter. When that time comes I would like to finish and upload it, even though it wont be marked, for my own benefit.

The links for my presentation above have failed to work when I converted the presentation onto slideshare which was a shame as I feel that they worked really well. Below are the original slides as I intended them to be.

13th Blog Entry - Evaluation Question 6 - What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

In todays lesson I have created an online presentation using a programme called 'Prezzi.' I have used it to create an answer for question 6 of my evaluation. It is a unique way of displaying information as it is a free flowing/moving powerpoint.

12th Blog Entry

Evaluation speed dating, in todays lesson we did an activity which allowed us to evaluate a piece of eachothers work by having an evaluation sheet in front of the work with a space to comment on what we liked and disliked/what we would change. I found that a few comments suggested that I should add more colour/brighter colour to my contents page. Overall most of the comments were positive especially the title of my magazine.

8th Blog Entry

Today I have fully completed my front cover and created a special edition alternative. I will now move on to creating my contents page and double page spread.
I then decided to create an alternate front cover using my original design especially for subscribers. I did this by adding a text box across the top and changing the "freebies" included from 4 A5 postcards to 3 A3 posters.
In todays lesson I developed my design further until completion by adding text boxes, effects and altering he images.
This was my finished version of my magazine which I printed out to see how it looked on paper.
I then discovered that there was too much "red" colours on the cover so I decided to alter the main image and the positioning of the features.

In todays lesson I started to add the main features of my magazine cover including cover lines, images and text. A font I particularly like was cityburn which I had downloaded from the website dafont.com.

This is the first screen shot i had taken from the previous weeks work. It includes the title, tag line and main image.
The next few shots were from todays lesson where I added a coverline in a similar font to The Pretty Reckless logo. I also created a box containing 4 free posters to feature in the magazine.
